Method and limits

The estimator applies the official 2026 QPIP structure. Basic plan: maternity 18 weeks at 70%, paternity 5 weeks at 70%, shareable parental 32 weeks (the first 7 at 70%, the rest at 55%). Special plan: maternity 15 weeks at 75%, paternity 3 weeks at 75%, shareable parental 25 weeks at 75%. The 7 premium weeks of the basic plan are credited to the mother first.

Additional weeks: if each parent takes at least 8 shareable weeks (basic) or 6 (special), the family earns 4 extra weeks at 55% (basic) or 3 at 75% (special). They are shown separately, valued at the mother's rate.
Limits: simplified estimator. Real benefits use the exact reference-period earnings; employer top-ups, self-employment income details and adoption benefits (welcome/support and adoption weeks, which follow a different structure) are not covered.
